Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson is growing up and now wants to be called by her name.
Some of you may remember Alana Thompson rose to fame on TLC’s “Toddlers & Tiaras,” which eventually led to her family receiving their own show, “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.” The show revolved around Alana Thompson and her family’s life while living in Mclntyre, GA.
While the show was very popular, it was also met with criticism, as many called it exploitative and offensive. Here Comes Honey Boo Boo aired from 2012 to 2014 and ended after four seasons.
Well, now it looks like Honey Boo Boo is growing up and has a grown man.
According to The Sun, Alana Thompson, 16, is currently dating a college student named, Dralin Carswell who’s 20-Years-Old. Many outlets are reporting the couple has been dating for six months and completely ‘attached at the hips.’ Carswell was attending a technical school in Nashville before the pandemic but now lives closer to Thompson.
Alana Thompson talked openly about her relationship during an exclusive Teen Vogue interview where she mentioned, Carswell is probably her only friend due to her trust issues.
“To be honest, I do not have many friends. At all [โฆ] Because I feel like folks are so much like, ‘Oh, my God, I’m friends with Honey Boo Boo,'” the reality star stated. “I don’t trust nobody really, so I don’t have friends.”
Although many people have voiced concern about Alana Thompson and Dralin’s relationship, the couple has received approval from Alana’s older sister, who is also her legal guardian. It’s also important to mention, 16 is the legal age of consent in the State of Georgia.
