R. Kelly’s Brooklyn trial continues to heat up as more details emerge about his relationship with late R&B singer Aaliyah. With all the information coming out during R. Kelly’s case, the most interesting has been the facts surrounding him and Aaliyah. 2021 marks the 20th anniversary of her death, with fans also be treated to newly released music from her in addition to information about her annulled marriage to R. Kelly.
A woman identified as Jane Doe #7 opened up about things she witnessed while dating R. Kelly, including alleged abuse against Aaliyah.
Court documentation specifies, “Jane Doe Number Seven is prepared to testify that in light of her relationship with the defendant, which included the fact that they had sexual contact with each other when she was a minor, she was in a position to view the defendant engaged in sexual activity with Jane Doe Number One [Aaliyah].”
“We were out on the road with Aaliyah,” Jovante Cunningham says. “On a tour bus, there really aren’t many confined spaces. When you get on the bus there are bunks and so these bunks have little curtains you can pull at night if you don’t want anybody to see you sleeping.”
“So it just so happened we were all laying in our bunks and the curtains are open, everybody’s communicating, laughing. When the [room] door flew open on the bus. Robert was having sex with Aaliyah.”
Lisa Van Allen spoke about this a few years back, claiming “He actually stayed at their home in Detroit and her mother actually was sexually attracted to him as well,” Allen told VladTV. “When Aaliyah went to sleep, he would go in the living room and him and her would do sexual acts on the couch while Aaliyah was sleep in the bedroom.”
R. Kelly trial set to resume tomorrow.
