NBA Star Shannon Brown is looking a little different these days, and the internet has questions. The Former hooper made a guest appearance recently at Ice Cube’s Big3 League, which made their return after an extended hiatus due to pandemic. The league features a blend of NBA player, retired veterans and D leaguers which means the occasional high profile guest star will pop in. Brown did so this week, but everyone is curious about his appearance.
Shannon Brown started his basketball career in 2006 playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He went on to have a successful career winning 2 championships with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2010 and 2011 before retiring in 2015.
Brown was also married to R&B singer Monica for some time, the two share 1 child together. Monica and Shannon we’re married for 8 years before they split in 2018 and ultimately divorced in 2019. The pair met in in June 2010 while she was looking for someone to play the love interest in her video for the song “Love All Over Me”. Monica has opened up recently about their divorce and its impact on her.
“After divorce, it’s one day at a time,” she said in an interview. “You don’t know what you’re going to feel day by day. You have to wake up and just flat out see what that’s gone be, see how you gone feel. And a big part of it is also, for me, respect is key. I try to always keep the respect intact. We’re a good ways outside of it. We split in 2018, that’s when I decided to leave, and the divorce was final October 24, 2019. So, it’s been sometime now.”
She revealed that the split was hard for her and that it coincided with some real family tragedies that made moving on even harder. As a result the divorce took awhile to finalize and she lived in a hotel for a bit with the kids until she was able to get settled.
Shannon has not spoken much about the affects of the divorce but some are assuming it hit him hard after his recent appearance on the court. Brown appeared overweight and bloated, with his hair blonde and thinning.
