Kim Kardashian Applies Pressure While Showing Off Latest SKIM Collection Sitting In A Golf Course

Single life is not slowing Kim Kardashian down. If anything, Kim Kardashian is moving harder in her element. Her empire is vastly growing by the day, which also includes a beauty and makeup line. Her underwear and shapewear line, Skims, continues to see an incline in sales. Just recently, Kim Kardashian just shared her new design for Skims, and her promotional picture proves she can turn any setting sexy.

Kim Kardashian first launched her shapewear company in 2019 under the name “Kimono”. According to the reality star at the time of the annoucnement, the brand was a passion project of hers for that she had been developing for 15 years.

“Kimono is my take on shapewear and solutions for women that actually work,” Kardashian wrote in the announcement. “I would always cut up my shapewear to make my own styles, and there have also been so many times I couldn’t find a shapewear color that blended with my skin tone so we needed a solution for all of this.”

But Kim Kardashian’s moment would be shortlived. An increasing amount of backlash would quickly ensue as many felt that the name “Kimono” was disrespectful to Japanese culture. The cultural appropriation criticisms would grow so large that the hashtag #KimOhNo began to trend on social media. Not only that, but the Mayor of Kyoto in Japan asked Kim Kardashian in a statement to consider changing the name.

Kim Kardashian and her team immediately responded to the backlash and decided that a name change had to happen. According to WSJ Magazine, Kardashian’s intentions were pure, as she meant to play off of her name “Kim”.

“I heard it, and it instantly clicked with me,” said Kim, WSJ reports. “And I think ono means ‘one.’ The Kim part I thought was, like, clever. I’ve always been a little bit more minimal when it comes to branding and I just think that incorporates me, but also, like, one.”

Kardashian would later reveal to her fans that the name of her company had been changed to Skims, launching that September. “My fans and followers are a huge inspiration to me,” she captioned her Instagram announcement. “I’m always listening to their feedback and opinions, and am so grateful they shared their ideas for a new brand name.”

She continued, “After much thought and consideration, I’m excited to announce the launch of @SKIMS Solutionwear™… I love the idea that the pieces will be the closest thing to someone’s skin, skimming with amazingly soft and supportive fabrics which accentuate the best parts of our bodies.”

Since changing the brand’s name to Skims, Kim Kardashian and her team have been moving full speed ahead. Before this year’s Olympic games took place, Kim Kardashian revealed that Skims would be designing the “undergarments, pajamas and lounge wear” for team USA.

“Ever since I was 10 years old, I’ve heard every single detail about the Olympics from my stepdad [Caitlyn Jenner],” she wrote on Instagram. “As I would watch the athletes compete, I would grow to understand the dedication and honor being a part of the Olympics embodied.”

Adding that she was “honored” to be designing team USA’s apparel, Kardashian added: “When I received the call inviting Skims to be a part of [Team USA] 🇺🇸, every moment I’ve spent admiring the strength and energy of the Olympians from the sidelines came full circle.”

Now, for those that are not a part of Team Usa, Kim Kardashian and Skims has something else in store. Kardashian took to social media recently to announce the latest addition to the line, the Skims Twist.

Slated to drop on Wednesday, August 25, Kardashian posted a picture of herself and her former assistant Stephanie Shepherd in the undergarment. The two can be seen seated in a golf cart as their toned abs bask in the sunlight. Currently, the post has amassed over 4 million likes. Check out Kim Kardashian’s Skims Twist below!
