Over the weekend, the reality star, Nene Leakes, was confronted at her Linnetha Lounge by a fan who was upset the reality star didn’t wish them a happy birthday.
The altercation didn’t go over well with Nene Leakes, which prompted the reality star to address the crowd when she announced her husband, Greg Leakes, is transitioning.
“My husband is transitionng to the other side [inaudible]. The real truth is you’re rude. You don’t know what we’re dealing with right now. We walk through this lounge because we have to walk through here because this is our business. So when people approach you and say you’re rude because you don’t want to say happy birthday – My husband is at home dying, and I don’t want to say happy birthday, Ok, So please give us some respect, give us some love. That’s what we ask you to do.”
Leakes continued, “You see my son right here. He’s hurting, and I’m hurting. We walked in here because we have to walk through here; because we have a business. But my husband is losing his life at this very moment. So when he stepped to me and told me I was rude, I was very upset about that. Because sometimes you don’t know what people are dealing with and what people are going through., ok. My husband is not going to be here in a couple of days.”
If you recall, back in 2018, Greg was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer, but it went into remission after treatment. Nene and Greg both announced the exciting news on Instagram.
“Look at God! We are over joyed to say, we saw the doctors for the results of Gregg’s Pet Scan he took last week! Test show, wait for It…..WE ARE CANCER FREE!!! Yes God!”

Unfortunately, In June, Nene Leakes shared husband, Greg Leakes, cancer had returned.
“He’s in the hospital. He’s been in the hospital, tomorrow it’ll be a week,” 53-year-old NeNe shared when asked about her husband’s health. “I’m sure he’ll be home in about a week or so. He had to have a surgery, [because] his cancer did return.”
The reality star also went into detail about the difficulty of watching someone you love fight cancer.
“If you’ve ever been around somebody who’s had cancer before, he’s different,” she shared. “He’s different.”
“I’d love for everybody to pray for Gregg, that would be beautiful. Pray for his strength,” NeNe said, adding, “And pray for me too.”
While we’re unclear about the exact details surrounding Greg’s health, let’s keep Nene and Greg Leakes family in our prays.
