Rapper Offset Reveals Going BIG on First Date With Cardi B, Losing $10,000, But Winning His Wife

Migos’ frontman Offset and superstar Cardi B have been hip-hop royalty for some time now. The pair were initially spotted together in 2017 and have had quiet the whirlwind romance in the time since, eventually getting married and currently expecting their second child together. During a recent sit down with Anthony Anderson who is subbing for Jimmy Kimmel, Offset shed some light on the pairs first date and how it lost him $10k.

Cardi B and Offset have made sure to keep fans entertained throughout their union. They first come together via a collaboration called “Lick” in 2016. They eventually went on a date where Offset admitted to being impressed by the Bronx rapper. “I was like […], I like Cardi B!’ ”

The two married secretly in 2017, before welcoming their first child Kulture Kiari Cephus in 2018. In the time in-between the two broke up several times, often alluding to drama via their social media accounts. Despite the setbacks they continued to reunite, with lavish displays of their love and devotion to help solidify that they’re here to stay.

Eventually things took a turn for the worst and resulted in Cardi filing for divorce on Sept. 15, 2020. Speaking on her reasoning: “The reason for my divorce is not because of none of that… that ever happened before. It’s not because of cheating. I’m seeing people be like, ‘Oh, he has a baby on the way.’ That’s a whole complete lie. That’s the second time people are trying to pin babies over here. No, that’s bulls–t,” she told fans in an Instagram live. “I just got tired of arguing. I got tired of not seeing things eye to eye.”

By November 2021 the two were back on, and at the 2021 BET Awards they announced they’re second child.

Speaking on how they fell in love, Offset told Anthony Anderson he really wanted to impress Cardi on their first date. “My first date I went big. I wanted to do something that was not normally done,” he shared on the Tuesday installment of Kimmel Live! “I wanted to have fun and not be so serious and enjoy the time, so I took her to the Super Bowl.”

He had bet some money on the Atlanta Falcons, $10k to be exact. He lost that $10k but says he gained his wife in the process, so turns out he actually won.
