Reality Star Aubrey O’ Day Left The Country In Search For A New Life

Singer and Reality Star Aubrey O’Day might have finally had enough of the small screen and the U.S. The Danity Kane alumni has been a cast member on BET’s Encore for a few weeks now. The series follows former girl group members and Nivea as they try to form a “supergroup” in 30 days. O’Day has been butting heads with just about everyone in the house and seemed like she was heading towards an early exit, however she took it to the next level when she announced that she would also be leaving the country in search of a new life.

O’Day was initially discovered by Diddy when he was looking for women to form a girl group. She would eventually star in 2 seasons of Making the Band before becoming the first member of Danity Kane. While the group found success on the charts and made stars out of lead vocalist Dawn Richard and Andrea Fimbres, it was O’Day who would continue to pull focus on their reality show, which followed them during the making of their first two albums. The group would eventually implode and be disbanded by Diddy, with O’Day going on to become a career reality television star.

Talking about her time on the series during an interview with Variety, O’Day revealed she was still scarred from ‘Making the Band’ and still recovering from trauma that followed her on the show. The singer also stated she received comments from Diddy that she believes he would “not at all” get away with these days. “Diddy’s a father, so hopefully he’s learned things about the way that you handle women and has more compassion for women now,” she says.

Since then she has kept busy with stints on Donald Trump’s Apprentice, Ex’s on the Beach, Famously Single and Marriage Bootcamp. Her latest foray into reality television, BET’s Encore, has been airing for a few weeks. The series has largely been plagued by drama thanks to overzealous twins Felicia and Fallon of Cherish, incredibly self conscious sister Irish and LeMisha from 702, and the fight for creative director control between O’Day and 3LW’s Kiely Williams.

O’Day briefly removed herself from the house after conflict with songwriter Elijah Blake, but has seemingly left permanently after not agreeing with the groups direction after their first listening event.

Coincidentally, O’Day opted to announce that she had also sold her house and moved out of the country the same week that the episode aired. In a lengthy post on Instagram she told fans “I need a more profound purpose at this stage of my life than what I’ve learned so far,” she shares. “So.. I’m writing this to anyone who may be relating to any of these feelings expressed.. JUST JUMP AND THE NET WILL APPEAR! love you all!”
